William Gaines Jones

Mr. William Gaines Jones, 90, of Tucker, GA passed away on May 14, 2019.

He was born in Elberton, GA on December 22, 1928 to William Carroll Jones and Ina Gaines Jones. William served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He retired from Atlanta Gas Light Company after 46 years of service. William loved fishing and tending to his garden, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Atlanta.

William is survived by his wife of 70 years, Joyce Childs Jones of Elberton/Tucker; daughter, Nancy Jones of Tucker; daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Tommy Adams of Alabama; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Susan Jones of Bishop; son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Laura Jones of Winder; 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and numerous family and friends.

Memorial services celebrating his life will be held graveside at 3PM on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Bethel E Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Scott Mize officiating.
