William L. Adams, 78, of 2395 Hartwell Hwy. Elberton husband of Genelle Davis Adams died Wednesday October 21, 2009 at Athens Regional Medical Center. Born in Elbert County he was a son of the late Brewer Tate Adams and Bertha Fannie Adams. He was a member of Concord United Methodist Church, the Elberton Granite Association, served in the National Guard, and was the owner of Adams Granite Quarry. Survivors include his wife of the home Genelle Davis Adams, daughters and son-in-law Jan Burdette and Steve Ramsey, Judy and Al Hudson, sons and daughter-in-laws Wayne and Kathy Adams, and Bobby and Sandra Adams, sisters Virginia Nell Griffin, Shelby Gaines, brother Woodrow Adams, sixteen grandchildren, and twenty great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister Brenda Outz. Funeral services will be held Saturday October 24 at 2 PM at Concord United Methodist Church with Rev. Jay Akin, Rev. Gary Thompson, and Rev. Al Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be at the home 2395 Hartwell Hwy. and will receive friends from 7-9 PM Friday night at Berry Funeral Home. Pallbearers will include Chad Hudson, Scott Hudson, Stephen Adams, Josh Scarborough, David Hendrix, and Jimmy Deas. Berry Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements for Mr. William L. Adams.
