William Anthony Massey

Mr. William Anthony Massey, 66, of Elberton, passed away Friday, July 31, 2020 at St. Mary’s Hospice House.A native of Elberton, he was the son of Patricia Ann Bowen Algood and the late William Frank Massey.Mr. Massey served his country in the U.S. Navy, was an auto mechanic and loved hot rods, loved his family and enjoyed life. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Denia Lea Massey and Debra Ann Moon. Survivors include his Mother, Patricia Algood, of Elberton; daughters, Elizabeth Massey, Lauren Massey, both of Lavonia, Dawn Bruce, Tristan Moore, both of Whitesburg, Briana Randall of Hartwell; sons, Jonathan (Samantha) Massey, of Elberton, Shane (Tammy) Massey, of Royston, Nicholas (Gina) Massey, of Athens and Dustin (Jordan) Massey, of Elberton; brother, Russell Massey, twelve grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Brittany Cantrell, Missy Mercer, Chasity Tolbert, Cindi Massey, Chance Massey, Russell Massey and JJ Massey. A Funeral Service was conducted at 3:00pm, Wednesday, August 5, 2020 in the chapel of Hicks Funeral Home & Cremation Services, with Rev. Tim Adams officiating. A time of visitation began at 2:00pm until the hour of the service.Interment followed in Hillcrest Cemetery in Bowman with Ronnie Cantrell, Jason Pearson, Brett Mills, Tanner Mills, Scott Bowen and Jeff Bowen serving as pallbearers.
