William Paul Hagood

William Paul Hagood, 71, of 1043 Longstreet Road, Elberton, widower of Mary Ann Hagood, died Thursday, November 19, 2009 at the Heardmont Nursing Home. Born in Calhoun Falls, he was a son of the late Martin Hagood and Helen Eva Dilleshaw Hagood. He was a retired welder and of the Baptist Faith. Servivors include nieces and nephews: Tonya Childs, Kim Jones and Gene Hagood all of Elberton; Cathy Lewis of Morganton, NC; Sherry Gilmore of Emory, SC; Robert Davis of Calhoun Falls; Gina Nixon of Athens; James Owens of Athens; & Wayne Hagood of College Park. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 PM Saturday, November 21, at the Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Abbeville, SC. Pallbearers will be Gene Hagood, Denver Hagood, Chris Johnson, Ray Plont, David Jones, and Joshua Nelms. Flowers are optional and memorials may be made to the Madison/Oglethorpe Counties Animal Shelter. Berry Funeral Home in charge of the funeral arrangements for William Paul Hagood.
