Mr. William Theodore Carey, 86, of Highway 172 West, Bowman, husband of the late Nancy ‘Darlena’ Moon Carey, passed way on Friday, September 18, 2020, at his residence.
Mr. Carey was born in Anderson, SC on April 9, 1934, son of the late Manuel and Rosie Hart Carey. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was of the Holiness faith. William and his wife Darlena owned and operated Carey’s Convenience Store in Bowman.
Survivors include his daughter, Angela M. Pullian and her husband John of Bowman; grandson, Steven Pullian of Bowman; brother, Toby "Sam" Carey; sister, Ella Mae Hanks; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his siblings: Billy Carey, Robert Carey, Cordell Carey, Bertha Lee Green, Rachel Eaton, Mary Timms, and Margaret Byrum.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Monday, September 21, 2020, at 2 o’clock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery with Casey Kesler, Derek Kesler, Don Crowe, Mike Tate, Ronnie Crowe, and Tim Pullian honored as pallbearers.
The family is at residence and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00p.m. on Sunday, September 20.
