William David Thornton entered his heavenly home, and the peaceful presence of Christ, on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2025, at his residence in Elberton, GA.
“Dave”, as everyone knew him, was born on April 13, 1987. He is survived by his parents William McWhorter Thornton Jr. and Deborah Williford Thornton, and his sister Chrissie Thornton.
He was a 2005 Graduate of Elbert County Comprehensive High School, attended Kennesaw State University, and received an award from the Atlanta Journal- Constitution as one of their top salesmen in the newspaper’s student work program.
He was an avid sports lover, especially baseball, and was a certified Georgia Little League umpire at the age of 16. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Elberton and was baptized at the age of seven.
During his middle and high school years, he was active in the church’s youth group, including attending several youth camps. Dave had an outgoing personality and loved people. He had a generous heart and kind spirit. He was greatly loved by his family and spent this last year in close relationship with them.
The Thorntons will receive friends at their home, 418 East Church Street, Elberton, GA through Friday, Feb. 7, 2025, at 6p.m.. No formal services are planned at this time.
