William Thurmond, Jr.

Mr. William Thurmond, Jr., 75, of Danburg St. Tignall, GA passed away Monday, February 19, 2024.

Mr. Thurmond was born February 16, 1949 in Washington, GA to William Thurmond, Sr. and Emma Davis Thurmond. He was a retired motor grader operator for the Wilkes County Road Department.

He is survived by a sister: Emma Funderburk, nephews: Johnny Dunson, Jessie Dunson, Paul Anderson, Eddie Holton; niece: Patricia Buford; step grandchildren: Sable and Matt VanHart, Doug Standard, III; step-great-grandchildren: Luke VanHart and Katelynn VanHart and special friends: Fanice Bowman and Billie Ann Smith.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife: Mary Alma Price Thurmond, sister: Betty Jean Dunson; brother: Benny Thurmond and step-son: Doug Standard, Jr.

Memorial services to celebrate his life will be held 1PM, Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Tignall Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Wynne officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Tignall Baptist Church.
