Mrs. Willie Mae Price Bass, 80, of Elberton, Georgia passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2019 in Elberton. Mrs. Bass was born in Elberton to the late William Rufus and Georgia Rice Price.She was married for over 64 years to Mr. Raymond Lamar Bass, Sr. before his passing on November 5th of this year.Mrs. Bass was a shipping clerk in the textile industry until her retirement.She was a member of New Bethel United Methodist Church. Mrs. Bass is survived by two daughters: Lavenia Bass Baxter of Cheraw, SC, and Georgia Bass Corn (Eddy) of Hiawassee; her grandchildren: Charles Corn (Summer) of Ray City, Lydia Corn, Kyle Bass, and Mark Bass; and two great-grandchildren: Eden Corn and Ezra Corn.She also leaves behind four brothers, James Rufus Price (Evelyn), William Lester Price, Thomas Price, and Robert Price (Judy); and one sister, Helen Owens (Reginald). In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Bass was preceded in death by her son, Raymond Lamar Bass, Jr. and his wife, Pamela Hulme Bass; a son-in-law, Andrew Baxter; a brother, Albert Price; and a sister-in-law, Pam Price. A service to celebrate Mrs. Bass’ life was held on Friday, November 15, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. in New Bethel United Methodist Church with Rev. Richard Jarvis officiating.Interment followed in the church cemetery.Serving as pallbearers were Thomas Price, Robert Price, William Price, Mark Bass, Kyle Bass, and Charles Corn. A time of visitation for family and friends was held on Thursday evening, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hicks Funeral Home.Flowers were graciously accepted. Arrangements for Mrs. Willie Mae Bass were in the care of Hicks Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Elberton.
