Willie Mae Jordan Tate

Willie Mae Jordan Tate, 89, of 2016 John Tate Road, Bowman, wife of the late John Jasper Tate, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at her son’s residence. Mrs. Tate was born in Clarke County, October 23, 1923, daughter of the late Willie Jordan and Lucy Fleming Jordan Bellew, step-daughter of the late Andy Bellew. She was a homemaker and attended Flatwoods Pentecostal Holiness Church, Forest Hills Assembly of God, and Bowman Church of God. Left to cherish her memories are her children, Bobby Ray Tate of Bowman, Phyllis Scarborough and her husband Kenneth, and Joyce Ann Suttles, both of Elberton; ten grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by son, Raymond Jasper Tate; and granddaughter, Robin Suttles. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held Saturday, April 27, at 2:00p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Revs. Ann Reynolds and Phillip Hart officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family is at the residence of Bobby Tate, 2016 John Tate Road, Bowman, and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 7:00-9:00p.m. Friday evening.
