Mrs. Willie Mae Tate Wilbon, 85, of Oglesby Boulevard, Elberton, wife of 63 years to the late Joe Wilbon, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2020, at AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson.
Mrs. Wilbon was born in Elberton on April 27, 1935, daughter of the late Josh Tate and Roxy Rucker Tate. She was a member of Rose Hill Baptist Church and enjoyed taking care of children.
Survivors include her children: Robbie Joe and Shirley Wilbon of Hartwell, Willie C. and Stephanie Wilbon of Hartwell, Shara Ann and Richard Hudson of Elberton, and Lisa Renae Wilbon of Anderson; fourteen grandchildren; raised in the home, Kim (Tim) Bray of Elberton; in-laws: Lila Brandon, Jamie Callaway, Dorothy Adams, Earl Wilbon, Lovey Thomas, and John Calhoun; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Janice Willis; and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, June 6, at 3 o’clock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Lincoln Heights Cemetery.
The family is at the residence and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 6:00-7:00p.m. on Friday, June 5.
