Willie Harold Smith

Mr. Willie Harold Smith, Jr., 74, of Elberton, Georgia passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at his residence. A native of Franklin County, Mr. Smith was the son of the late Willie Harold and Ora Mae Brown Smith.He was a veteran of the United States Army, and had worked throughout his life as a truck driver.Mr. Smith was a member of Northside Baptist Church. Mr. Smith is survived by his daughters: Tracy Smith of Elberton, Wendy Williamson of San Diego, California, Erica Smith of Elberton, Jessica Smith of Dewy Rose and step-daughter, Courtney Pridemore of Mullins, South Carolina. In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by a son, Willie Harold Smith, III, and two brothers, Bobby Jerry Smith and Jimmy Wayne Smith. A service to celebrate Mr. Smith’s life was held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in The Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home, with Rev. Jim Olds officiating.Interment followed in Hillcrest Cemetery in Bowman, with Paul Sweat, Jason Smith, Dan Reid, Matt Smith, Jarod Gibson, and Rondle Fleming serving as pallbearers. Arrangements for Mr. Willie Harold Smith, Jr. were in the care of Hicks Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Elberton.
