Mrs. Zelma Lee Smith Fry known by many as “MaMaNig”, age 90, of Elberton, Georgia,passed away Saturday, August 19, 2017 at her home. Mrs. Fry was born in Lexington, Georgia, daughter of the late George and Linnie Tiller Smith.Mrs. Fry was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Fry, and also a brother, Billy Smith.She retired from Elberton Manufacturing where she worked as a seamstress.Mrs. Fry will be remembered by her friends and family for her great love of cooking for others,and also as someone who loved time at the lake, both of which she found great pleasure in doing. Mrs. Fry is survived by her children: Wayne and Debbie Bridges, Sherry Nash, Jane Bridges and Lamar Maxwell, Ricky and Doris Fry, and Gary Fry and Kathy Fleming, all of Elberton.She also leaves behind 16 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter. A service to celebrate Mrs. Fry’s life was held on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. in The Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home, with Mr. Richard Grimes officiating. Interment followed in Forest Hills Memorial Park, with Scott Black, Morgan Fry, Jacob Fry, Joshua Fry, David Capell, and Zed McLanahan serving as pallbearers. A time of visitation was held on Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hicks Funeral Home. Arrangements for Mrs. Zelma Smith Fry were in the care of Hicks Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Elberton.
